Two-car accident in Westerly injures four

EST, December 23, 2013 No injuries were reported in a minor crash involving a sheriff’s deputy in Osceola County on Monday morning, officials said. According to the Florida Highway Patrol , the crash happened in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store on Seven Dwarfs Lane at U.S. Highway 192 about 8:25 a.m. Monday. A sheriff’s spokeswoman said a driver backed into the deputy’s car. FHP spokeswoman Trooper Wanda Diaz confirmed that the deputy was not at fault in the crash.

San Bernardino car crash leaves unborn child, 2 adults dead and 3 injured

Unborn child, 2 killed, 3 injured in IE crash

(KABC) — Two people and an unborn child were killed and three others injured in a rollover car crash in San Bernardino Sunday. The accident happened in the 3800 block of Ridge Line Drive around 1 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire said. Three people were ejected from the silver 2003 Nissan Altima and two others were trapped inside after it went over the edge of Ridge Line Drive in the hills of San Bernardino. Police say the car carrying five people was headed up the hill – the road makes a slight curve, but the driver continued straight, traveling right over the edge. The car rolled several times and fell 200 yards down the side of a hill and ended up in a ravine, San Bernardino County Fire said. Cesar Andrew Caro, 24, of San Bernardino and Jennifer Blancas, 19, of Banning were pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters found the third man who was ejected. He was immediately rescued and transported to the hospital with multiple fractures to his spine. He was identified as a 23-year-old man from San Bernardino. A female and a pregnant woman, both 19, were trapped inside the car. The pregnant woman was airlifted to the hospital, but suffered extensive injuries including the loss of her unborn child.

795 crash BLADE STAFF Three victims of a two-car crash on State Rt. 795 in Perrysburg Township were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and one went to Toledo Hospital late Sunday night, authorities said. The crash near Crossroads Parkway was reported at 11:05 p.m. It is under investigation by the Ohio Highway Patrol. Pierre Leduc, 20, of Elmore was driving west on Route 795 and failed to yield while turning left onto Crossroads, according to the patrol. 1 injured in car-train accident

There were no fatalities, he added. Pentangelo said Abdurrahe Ali, 31, of Bayonne, struck a car on 12th Street then sped off north towards 13th Street before striking additional vehicles. Abdurrahe was later issued summonses for reckless driving, unsafe operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of accident, Pentangelo said. He said an unidentified 32-year-old passenger in Abdurrahe’s car fractured his right leg. Abdurrahe was also taken to Jersey City Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Pentangelo said. 4 injuries reported in State Rt. 795 crash

The Westerly police and fire departments, along with ambulances from Westerly, Charlestown and Ashaway, all responded to the call, which came shortly after 10 a.m. Capt. Shawn Lacey, of the Westerly Police Department, said that responders had to use an extraction tool to remove one of the victims from the vehicle because the passenger-side door had caved in from the crash. The accident occurred outside of the Granite Shopping Center, as the driver of one vehicle attempted to make a left turn into the shopping center. The car traveling in the opposite direction then collided with the first vehicle. The two drivers and two passengers were all taken by ambulance to The Westerly Hospital, though their injuries did not appear to be serious, Lacey said.
