She was hit outside The Mohawk music club early in wee hours of March 13. Le, who is from Pass Christian, Miss., sustained head injuries,according to the Associated Press , and had been in critical condition at theUniversity Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin since the accident . Fifteen patients were quickly treated and released, but seven are still hospitalized; five reside at the university’s medical center, including one in critical condition. After speeding through the crowd, Owens’ car crashed into a taxi and a parked van, at which point he tried to escape on foot. The entire episode lasted about a minute. [Sandy] lived in this whimsy that almost made you jealous,” Le’s brother-in-law, Stuart Gates, told The Clarion Ledger . “She was a very carefree and nonchalant person with a definitely giving spirit, and she was very selfless.” Owens is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and is accused of driving while intoxicated. He is currently in custody in Bell County Jail in Texas, where his bond is set at $3 million.

Four injured in Monroe County accident early Sunday

62-year-old James Morrissy was 34-year veteran of the department. He was pronounced dead Monday night at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. His fellow officers lined up outside the hospital. Morrissy was on-duty and on his way to assist another officer Monday. Thats when his squad car was struck on the drivers side at the intersection of Cicero Avenue and 160th Street. No charges are pending in the crash. Morrissy is survived by his wife and three sons.

Fonte of Kunkletown was driving south on Route 115 when her Dodge Stratus crossed into the northbound lane, striking the northbound state police vehicle head-on. Quick Clicks Thirty-year-old Erin C. Dooner of Effort, the passenger in Fonte’s car, also was injured. The northbound vehicle, a state police Ford Crown Victoria, was driven by Jeffrey J. Kowalski. His age and hometown were not provided by state police. Kowalski and his passenger, Gary Fedorczyk, 38, of Blakeslee, are state police troopers at the Fern Ridge barracks, according to state police. The four injured people were transported to Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County, and to Lehigh Valley and St.

(WWLP)- Two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries Sunday night after a car crash in Springfield. Springfield Police Sergeant John Delaney told 22News the passenger is a 25-year-old man from Chicopee and is in critical condition. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Agawam, was treated and released from the hospital. Police were called to the intersection of Bay Street and Sycamore Street just before 10:30Sunday night.Thats in the Mason Square neighborhood just outside of Oak Grove Cemetery. Lieutenant Thomas Maccini of the Springfield Police Department told 22News two cars were traveling west on Bay Street. He said they believe one car could have been trying to pass the other.One driver lost control and the car crashed into several objects including a fire hydrant before coming to rest against a house at 487 Bay St., according to Springfield police. Thepassenger in the car was ejected and landed on the porch of the house, Maccini said. The driver and passenger were taken to Baystate Medical Center, but the passenger had more serious injuries, Maccini said. Firefighters and police smelled natural gas in a sewer near the crash shortly after and called a gas company, Springfield Fire Department spokesman, Dennis Leger said.
