Death of driver in car accident in Derry means almost 50 people have been killed on the island’s roads this year

She was only 26 years old. Active in the U.S. Air Force, Metzger was recently stationed in the Midwest, but her loss was felt in a big way here in the Gayborhood. To honor her memory and help Metzgers family pay for her funeral, nine of her closest Philly friends started a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe that has already hit $4,400 of its $5,000 goal. The campaign will be followed up with a fundraiser / Celebration of Life event on Sunday, March 23rd, where folks are invited to gather and share memories. Locals remember her as a spark in Philly’s LGBT community. Attorney Angela Giampolo says, “shewas one of the most joyful souls with the brightest eyes I’ve ever met … Her impact on me, her friends and this community will never be forgotten.” Tara Robinson, an organizer of the fundraiser,remembers Jes as “the little rainbow cricket of our lives. She would light up any room and bounce around.

The female driver in the blue car is said to have sustained minor injuries, but declined medical attention. We are still waiting to hear if any citations were given. Luckily there were no serious injuries. Car Accident on 9th Street South

It is understood that parents Stephen and Amanda, who have a baby son also, were being comforted by relatives and friends. Co Donegal A 13-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a car on the main Buncrana to Carndonagh Road in Co Donegal on Thursday 13th March. The incident occurred at Ballymacarry, Buncranaaround 10.30pm. It is understood that Callum Dale from Buncrana had Aspergers syndrome and was being coaxed off the road by his parents at the time of his death. His father was injured in the incident and remains in a critical condition at Letterkenny General Hospital. Investigating Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 9320540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station. County Cork A 17-year-old was killed when the car he was driving overturned on the Lisgriffen Road, at Drumdowney, North of Mallow, County Cork on Thursday 13th March. The victimwas pronounced dead at the scene.Two woman and a man in their late teens were also in the car and were uninjured but were treated at the scene for shock. Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on that road between 4pm and 4.20pm on the 13th March 2014, to contact them in Mallow on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
