At 10:50 a.m. Friday, a blue convertible drove off the street and struck the unoccupied home, causing damage to the structures foundation and siding, Nielsens release said. The front of the car was also damaged, the release said. The driver is being evaluated for injuries, while police are continuing with the investigation, the release said. The city building inspector and Fire Department are also assisting at the scene, and the crash is being investigated by the Milford Police Traffic Division, the release said. No further information was available.

Woman dies after car crashes into pond near Kernersville
– Residents at a south Columbia apartment complex are back home after a car went crashing into a building. March 8. The driver was traveling northbound on Pearl when her SUV slid on ice, spun into the southbound lane, then into the curb before rolling down a hill, flipping twice. The truck came to rest on its side. Drunken driver, Boston Road: Police pulled over a driver traveling 49 miles per hour in the 4500 block of Boston Road at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 26. The driver smelled of alcohol and was given field sobriety tests, which he failed. The man later refused to take a breath test and was cited for speeding and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Driving under suspension, Center Road: A man was cited for driving without a valid license at 6:22 p.m. March 5 after being picked up by police following a license plate check.

Posted: Friday, March 21, 2014 8:30 am Woman dies after car crashes into pond near Kernersville WGHP/FOX8 Winston-Salem Journal KERNERSVILLE — A woman was killed when her car went off the road and into a pond early Friday morning in Guilford County. The call came in about 1:30 a.m. from neighbors who saw the car submerged in the 12-15 feet deep pond. The driver, Chelsey Herrington, 20, was pulled from the car and taken to Moses Cone Hospital, but officials say Herrington was in her submerged car for more than two hours. No one else was in the vehicle. Officials say Herrington was driving on Warner Road near Pearman Quarry Road, when her vehicle crossed the center line, ran into some trees and crashed into the pond. Troopers say it appeared Herrington never hit the brakes before running off the road.
