A tractor-trailer crash closed Interstate 295 north at exit 10 in Cumberland. The tractor trailer flipped over in the middle of the bridge around 6:30 p.m. just before the Mendon Road exit. State police charged the driver, James Marsland, 59 of Cumberland, with DUI. He was held overnight, pending an arraignment at Providence District Court on Thursday morning. Traffic could be seen backed up for miles. It wasn’t till about 8 p.m. when one lane of traffic opened on the highway. State police worked with the Department of Transportation to set up detours to clear the traffic back up because of the accident. 23 Kenney Drive

The collision happened at 9th and Washington Street after 2 a.m. Friday. A fire hydrant was hit during the crash and was spilling water onto the street. The driver’s side door of the fire truck ended up on the street and there was damage to the front end as well. No word on any injuries or what led up to the collision.

Motorcyclist injured in accident involving Olathe trash truck

Olathe police responded to the injury accident at 10:40 a.m. Thursday near Sumac and 114th streets. When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist, a 59-year-old man, with injuries to his hands and face. The driver of the trash truck was not injured. Police said initial reports indicate that the motorcycle was attempting to pass the trash truck when the accident occurred. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with injuries. Seven killed in China truck crash

The truck, which was carrying 13 people, veered off a steep mountain road in Yilong county of Nanchong City at about 4.20 a.m., Xinhua reported citing traffic police. Six people were killed at the scene and another succumbed while being taken to hospital. The five injured passengers were being treated in the People’s Hospital of Yilong county. According to traffic police, four of them were slightly wounded but one was in critical condition. The truck driver was the only one who survived without injuries. The driver told police that it was raining and his vehicle had broken down on the slippery mountain road. Shortly after he got out of the truck to check the road condition, the vehicle suddenly slid backwards and fell off the cliffside.
